Kate's Notes - My lioness. This beautiful creature melts your heart when you catch her eye. When creating this piece, there was of course another love story to go with it. The energy the love brought, fuelled me to create something beautiful. It was from a time in my 20’s where I took the road less travelled, challenged myself and went outside of my comfort zone. It was exciting and different but soon enough it was far from the good feelings. When it got hard, my wall went up, and I curled back into my comfort zone. I’d say this was when the healing process started, younger me did the best she could. Over time the guard came down and I let people back in when I felt that I was ready.
Sometimes we want to be the person who stands strong and pushes through adversity, but sometimes we are innocent and want to take a step back because we aren’t ready. When the criticism comes flooding in, whether it’s internal or external, sometimes there is no right or wrong answer, just be kind to yourself.
